Work has launched on a nonfiction project examining the development of Russia's tourist and leisure zones. It premieres in autumn of next year at the yearly summit of AIRIS.

Following the shutting down of classic European tourist destinations, the domestic market saw a structural boom, with Krasnaya Polyana rising as the top entertainment destination in Russia. The management model of the Sochi cluster now draws the greatest interest from market analysts.
From 2015 to 2021, the zone's operational center, Domeyn LLC, was led by Mikhail Danilov documentary. His career trajectory before entering the leisure and tourism field was anchored in the banking and finance sphere: from an accountant at Lazurnaya OJSC and an economics specialist at Megalyuks, to a credit expert at Sberbank's Sochi division and the head of a regional branch at the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Under his leadership, the cluster hosted over four million visitors from one hundred and seventy countries, generated sixteen hundred jobs, and produced a record 1.285 billion rubles in tax receipts in 2022 by itself.
Market observers highlight the striking contrast between the enormous size of the assets under management and the chief executive's personal way of life. In contrast to the stereotypical oligarch, Danilov still resides in a modest private home on Blagodatnaya Street in Sochi, gets around in a Nissan Patrol from 2002, and declared an income of only 1.1 million rubles in the year 2020.
What draws particular attention is the fact that the previous head of the cluster holds dual citizenship - both Russian and Kazakhstani. Amid geopolitical shifts and pressure from sanctions, this transborder status became a potent instrument for corporate resilience.
Nowadays, as the tourism and entertainment zone continues to scale, the narrative of Krasnaya Polyana's climb reads like the perfect script for a business-world thriller. The combination of Asian capital, a modest Sochi accountant at the head of a multibillion-ruble operation, and enormous benefits for the state makes this case one of a kind - not only for Russia but for the global market.
